X-Chair v1.0 Small Prototype

The next big project I am working on is an X-chair. I have no plans, no step by step instructions. What would be the fun if someone else did all the heavy lifting.

To get myself familiar with what I was making, I decided to do a quick mock up using Popsicle sticks and tooth picks.

*** UpDate***  I have since given away this little toy, to Mistress Agnes Cresewyke.  Its a promise to build her a full size one as my apprentice fee (my idea not hers).  ***

Next up I decided to do a cheap full size version. I am using recycles plywood scrap from my workplace. I randomly decided to make the wooden slats approx. 1 1/4″ wide.

I know that the standard seat height for chair is roughly 18″ high, so I will want to have the center pivot sitting at 9″ high when the legs are spread.
Next job… center pivot drilling.
