Cooperage v1.1 Water Barrel of Fun
More fun with cooperage… this one inspired by Spice & Sugar’ question
Fake water cooler barrel
Image Intensive post …
Plywood scrap from work cut to width and length
Slats cut on an angle and dado’s on each end of the slat. The lengths were determined by the full length of the water cooler, the end planks, 1/2″ ends, plus 4mm wiggle room.
Shot of the Dado, and the angled slop at the end.
Electrical tape used as temporary strapping
The exposed section is due to the flat foot on the end of the cooler. I will have to make a section with a cut out portion.
Shot of the metal packing strapping, and the carpet screws (short, black, built in washer)
Once assembled the flexiblity of the piece was a little tight. I am about an 1 1/2″ out from a tight wrap around the cooler. I will have to unscrew the pieces and cut the sides angles down a bug hair.
Learning boat loads. Fun Fun Fun
