Curdled Milk

Since I have been playing around with milk paint, I decided to try my hand at making my own milk curds.

I don’t want to muck about with cooking, so the test will be done at room tempature.

1L skim milk (.4%mf, and three days from expiry date)
apple cider vinegar  5.5%a.acid (all i had)

Control = ~350ml  s.m.
Trial#1 = ~350ml s.m. + 1tbs vinegar
Trial#2= ~350ml s.m. + 2tbs vinegar

5 days later

001

The control curded up at 4days
Trial #1 curded up at 3 days
Trial #2 just starting to curd on day 5.

Weirdness.

I was already of the mind that it would be more expensive and messy to make your own curds, and this proved to be true. 1L of milk produce only around a 1/2 cup of curd. $1.79 for a 1/2 cup curd vs. $4.99 for 4 cups of curd.

No more making curd for this girl.
