Cardboard Cupboard

Cardboard Cupboard

The other day I posted on a set of foldable shelves. I have since that time had the idea tickling the back of my mind. I did a quick doodle of how I could adapt Sir Geoofrey’s shelves into a foldable Ambury cupboard. Well the doodle has grown into a cardboard mock up of the [...]

Kumihimo Spools

Kumihimo Spools

I made up a few sample kumihimo spools for HL Mariko. Not sure If they are exactly what she wants, but I have had the project on the todo list for way to long.

I made them out of Dogwood blanks. They are old twisty thin pieces not much thicker than ~1″ thick. This size limit, [...]

Inspiration: Folding Shelves

Sir Master Geoffrey de Rennes has made this wonderful collapsing shelving set out of recycled plywood. The whole thing breaks down into two separate parts. The lower section for larger more mundane object gets covered with a cloth.Large cut outs in the bottom cut down on weight, and the cut outs are then lined with [...]

May Crown 2009

May Crown 2009

Well, We survived.
Mistress Agnes, and myself braved a 12.5 hour trip into Avacal. An Avacal populated by gigantic windmills. If they had been any closer to were we camped, I may have had to go Don Quiote on their butts.

I found my old banner in the bottom of a tote, so I used my old [...]

Pierce Work Lantern

Pierce Work Lantern

Years ago at Clinton war (I forget which year) I entered the A&S war point challenge. That years challenge was to build period lighting. I decided to build a peirce work lantern using scrap duct work I had lying around my shop.

I can no longer find the original image of the period lantern I [...]

Turned Bed Frame v1.8 Paint is Dry

Turned Bed Frame v1.8 Paint is Dry

So the long and trying road has finally winded to the end. The bed is done. This project was a fairly ambitious project for myself.  The whole thing needed only a fairly simple skill set, but its a marathon of time and patience.  I have a severe backlog of projects I need to do for [...]

Leather Shoes

Leather Shoes

Back in March I attended a shoe making workshop.  It was a one day course, where we recieved enough supplies to finish 1 full set of shoes each. I had initialy all but finished the shoes within a week off taking the course, but then the turned bedframe project took over my life. Now that the [...]

Turned Bed Frame v1.7 Last Call

Turned Bed Frame v1.7 Last Call

Well the bed frame is finally completed. I roped up the bed this evening, and carefully lowered myself on to the cot. Not even a creak was to be heard. Hurray! Super comfy with the wool rug hooked mattress.
I just have one thing to decide…
To paint, or not to paint?  That is the question.
