Rasp Handles

Nothing really medievaloid today, just making tools handles for a set of rasps. These rasps have been kicking around in my tool box for sometime. I seldom used them as the end your not using always ended up grating away flesh from my palm.

I decided to use up a bunch of beautiful spalted red & grey wood that I had left over from my x-chair. The pieces were pretty much useless for for anything other than small scale stuff. I cut the pieces down to a square ended  rectangle and then drilled one end a size smaller than the shaft of the rasp.

Turned down the square billet to round, and then added a decorative ball, and some groves.

Applied a little bit of bees wax and the friction polished it to a pretty dullish sheen

repeat 7 more times. The rasps I ended up cutting with a hacksaw, and then hammered the shafts into the pre-drilled hole.
