Loom
Today was a good scanvage day. I bought myself a loom at Value Pillage. No idea if it is all there and working. Nothing jumps out at me as being wrong. I am not a textiles kind of girl, but I can spot a deal when I see one. $20… Score.

Hi Mary,
Does the loom have any maker’s mark? The style looks familiar, but memory fails me right now. If I can remember more, I’ll post it. It does look like there are enough parts to make it work.
I looked all over it and didn’t find a makers mark. I looks very well made yet simple. Either someone was set up to make low cost table looms, or someone made a nicely done one off.
I’ve seen that style before, but don’t remember where. In any case, if you want to use it to hold your tablet weaving, there are a couple of ways…just leave off the heddle frames and beater and mount your warp on the front and back beams. If the angle is not good for working, try adding a dowel in one of the upper slots and run the warp over it. This assumes that you will then have enough working room at the front.
I’m really enjoying your archives, thanks for posting your projects.
Funny you suggest the loom as a tablet loom. I did that last night. I had stripped off the warp (really thick threads (tapestry?) and hooked up the tablet weaving project from AT war. It worked way better than the belt method I was trying. Finished that project and now have started the tedious process of warping the loom with crochet cotton. Going to try and make a table cloth for my folding aumbry.
I am so pleased you are enjoying my blog. I started the blog as a way to force myself to document the stuff I am doing. I make so much stuff and then cut it up for another project, or give the stuff away, that a lot of the things I made/did in the past I have no images of. Oh for a picture of either the fancy pole lathe I built or the 4 polelathe class set up I had at a clinton war a few years ago….sigh.
I took pictures of that class. If I ever find them again, I will send them your way.
