Clayton Boyer Spinning Wheel Plans

I am giddy with joy today, as I have received a set of plans from Clayton Boyer (Maker of awesome clocks). These are currently not available for purchase, as they are in the proofing stage.

In non-scaish parts of my life, I am a movie enthusiast, and through film review blogging and film related podcasting I would periodically get screeners from directors (film company’s) to screen and review their latest film. I always got this giddy feeling that someone who didn’t know me actually wanted my feedback on their works of art.

I have this same feeling with these plans. They currently have no step by step directions (Not that I really need them), so I will be documenting the build twice. Once following pre-established building techniques (found previously in EB’s yarn spooler project). Then once with as much turning as possible.

When these projects are done I will need spinners to try out the new toy and give feedback.  Any takers?

Too bad the build will have to be delayed for a couple of weeks. Priorities suck when there is fun on the horizon.

  1. Are your spinning wheel plans for an actual spinning wheel or the table top one I see on his website? I’m looking for good plans. Thanks.

  2. They are plans for an actual spinning wheel. As I have yet to build one from the plans, I have no idea if it is good or not at the moment. I dont believe he sells the spinning wheel plans yet.

  3. I am a spinner and would love to see if Mr. Boyer’s plan worked as expected. Any chance a prototype has been built & tested or how I might be able to have my local woodworker make one for me to test? Thanks.

  4. Sorry… Not built or tested. Never enough time in a day for all the different things I want to build.
