Tir Righ A&S Championship 2009
Tir Righ A&S Championship is over for this year. We had three full competitors, and three single entry entrants. I was a varied lot of items to judge this year. Polychrome leather work to Astronomical Navigation, to bone carving. It takes a lot of gumption to enter these contest and I appauld them all… I know what its like as I too this year entered a single item.

A huge wack load of images after the jump
Constance de Montbard had the single highest scoring item in the competion. She was called before court and told that she should learn what she did at the principality level and take it to Kingdom. This was a single entry she wasn’t trying for Champion this time around.

Dr. Carus enter the full competion with a sun navigation dial, and a near horizon sun stone sight gauge (I could be wrong I didn’t write it down, but it was a cool optical effect), and a cloak that turns into a tent (also an idea I want to play with).

Lady Argolia entered the championship with bone carving, pewter casting, and a full norse outfit including leather shoes.

Aelana de Cordova was the declared champion of Tir Righ for her entry of Icon Painting, Research paper (bookbinding/embroidery – Not sure what the exact entry was for…too busy socializing.

Elspeth enter and Tudor embroidered pouch. Didn’t get a chance to talk to her…bad Mary.

My entry was a conjecturably accurate table trestle. I didn’t get to display the finished product so I made due with the prototypes I had already made. Judging went as I thought it would. I know writing is difficult for myself, and presenting a piece is also not my forte, but I know what I am interested in, so fielding questions was easy.

Judges busy tabulating the scores.

Not a musician, but I really love this merchant/musician. He always has such nice stuff.

A heraldry consulting booth was up. I cna have a semi of turnips as a badge…woot.
Apprentice monkey was in attendance. Nameless people sewed a button on as a bellybutton. Monkey is representing Allvero, and Ava.
Lord Adam Fairamay had a few inlayed inkle loom at the event as well as a small wooden cart.
Mistress Agnes taught an 14th century finishing class. including how to tablet weave an edging.
Maille Rennick taught a basket weaving class (that I didn’t get the take <pout>)

Sister Apprentice Aleinor Sanz-Argent was placed in the order of etoile d’argent.
Maille Rennick was given a long over due AoA. Woot for Lady Maille.
Finally I was thrilled to find Mistress Elizabeth Braidwood had brought Medlars. Its an old english fruit that needs to rot before you eat it. Also called Open Arse fruit. I once went looking for that kind of fruit, but never found any. I now have a source… Yaa Me.
I will be uploading my documentations and building post in the next few weeks. I have to due line drawing of some of the documentation images by request of the owner.
