Cone Tent v1.5 ~ Final thoughts

I am done… as done as I will ever be. From the second I realized my mistake in building this temporary tent, I have grown to hate it. It is a fairly nice looking tent, and it is pretty damn dry in this glorified painter tarp. It is however nothing like I was attempting to build in the first place. Live, learn, burn it to the ground, and move on. If I had the book I have ordered interlibrary loan style, I suspect I would have a new Bedouin tent by AT war. Oh Well.

It kind of reminds me of the Tardis. It seems bigger on the inside than the outside.

I decided to try this tent out last weekend at defenders. Since It was a local event I tried to cram as much furniture into the tent as I could. This way I could decided what I needed to bring camping and what was going to be left at home.

I managed my folding aumbry cupboard, my huge wooden cooler, a locking chest, a 6′ cot (the 13th century turned rope bed didn’t work that well as the posts are over 3′ high and it has to sit a little to far from the edges of the tent wall),all my archery equipment, and a triangular back stool. All of that and I could fit some more stuff inside. I think I will be bringing my wooden keg stand after all.

Anyone want a unique tent? It will be for sale by end of 2010 camping season guaranteed.

argggg I hate it when a plan doesn’t come together.
