2 Days till Coronet Tent!
I sold the cone of shame. That leaves me two days to make another tent…. so…..
I built a new tent today. Took me an hour. 45 minutes of that was ripping a 2×4 into 2 beveled tent poles.
I like it a 1000 times more than the cone of shame…. and it doesn’t even have end [...]
Triangular stool v1.0
A.T. War is near at hand, and I have procrastinated on the A&S competition. So with the pool of days diminishing quickly, I decided I better get on with it. My entry is going to be a pole lathe turned triangular stool. I had previously turned a triangular back stool, so it should be a [...]
Cone Tent v1.5 ~ Final thoughts
I am done… as done as I will ever be. From the second I realized my mistake in building this temporary tent, I have grown to hate it. It is a fairly nice looking tent, and it is pretty damn dry in this glorified painter tarp. It is however nothing like I was attempting to build in the first [...]
Archery & Heavy Defenders 2010
Lions Gate Archery & Heavy Defenders happened this weekend despite the horrific weather. Only a few die hards managed to brave the weather enough to camp. I was among those glorious few, as I wanted to test out my new tent at an event that was near-ish to my house if it turned disastrous.
Friday night was just [...]
Cone Tent v1.3 ~ Hardware
So I have a conical tube of canvas. I now need to make a pole to support the whole shebang. Since my truck will only accommodate poles 6′4″ in length. I am going to have to make a two part sleeve/pole set up.
Cone Tent v1.2 – Painting
I wanted to pretty up the cone tent. I had by this point realized the mistake I had made when making my template, and decided to make it pretty to make up for the fact that it wasn’t going to look like the tent I was trying for. Sadness!
I did a quick doodle of a [...]
Cone Tent v1.1 The build
At this point I had not realized I had screwed up the template. I marked out all the sections on the painters tarp with wax tailor markers. The template was longer than the tarp, so I ended up using the wasted space at the corners to make up for the short lengths of canvas.
Hard to [...]
Cone Tent v1.0- Design
The big news… Recently I was contacted by an individual from Austin Texas, about purchasing my bedoiun tent. After a very short period of time a mutualy agreed upon price was determined, and the tent shouls be in Texas as I write this. This means I have very little time to make a new tent [...]
How to awesome up your work boots.
OK, I will admit it… I have huge feet. So Big that I find that shoe shopping is one of the more depressing things I can do. I ussually revert to buying a pair of mens shoes. Well, I decided I wanted shiny pretty work boots. This is my second pair, and I thought I [...]
