Cock Sheild
For a very brief time, long ago, I was fighting heavy in the SCA. It required me making a lot of my own Armour. This is the first shield I built. It was a curved heater made of three pieces of skinply laminated together with a slight curve along the length. On top of the shield blank, I glued on thick canvas, and painted my proposed device. The outside edge was a length of sisal rope that was lashed in place. Over top of that was a layer of raw hide I got from soaking the largest dog bones I could find. This was then molded into shape and lashed down. The standard SCA hockey face mask was used in the back as a hand guard.
I hope to find a picture of Monkey Jaw soon. That helm was one ugly specimen of bad design & even worse welding.
