Super image laden post after the jump

I bought a very solid new utility trailer. I could have easily used an old junker and fixed it up, but the parental units (mostly Mom) were uneasy with the thought of my towing a fix’r up’r. Since I spent my entire budget on the trailer I used as much scavanged materials as I could.

2×2 construction and plywood and paneling from work crates. Piano hinges keep the folding sides in place.

The side panels folded down.

I made this whole project one piece at a time. Each piece was fitted to the last. This overall means there are almost no true 90′ angles anywhere on the project. My Grandfather, a skilled carpenter, was both fascinated and horrified by my construction techniques. End piece being screwed on.

The end piece had to be a bug hair taller than the sides folded down, this way the end gables would lie flat on the other pieces.

The Bed board attached by 2×2 brackets on all the walls, and a center post to allow a door for storage to be added.

The door end had to be higher than both the sides folded down and the window gable. Somewhat paranoid about the process as I hadn’t even started to build the gables.

Bottom is pretty much done. Painted using cheap paint from a liquidation company. You can see the braces under the fold up side panels. I would be walking on the inside eadge,so it needed to have some strenght.

Bench Seat, and kitchen cupboard and counter

Half doors are need as the thing folds up. Hinges from Lee Valley tools. Locking door handle, to lock up the craft when out at the tavern.

Stick on tile flooring

Dogzilla liked her new doghouse.

Door Gable built. Dads big shop was a big asset.

Drawer and storage space

The sides are kept in place by locking latch hooks.

My Dog things the house and my matress is her’s.

I ended up dying the roof canvas a browny shade, and have a locking file cabinet under the bed platform. It is a really kickass house, but I already want to seel it. I have dreams of building a different style. You want it? $1500 or resonable offer.
