I entered the Tir Righ A&S competition this year. I had originally wanted to enter a set of conjecturally accurate trestle table. Everything was going swimmingly until disaster happened. While rushing from one theatre at the Vancouver International Film Festival to another, I fell and broke my ribs. The pain associated in trying to mortise holes into hard aged oak was unbearable. Having already declared my entry into the fray (single entry – non-champion) I was forced to enter the prototypes. This is not what I had wanted to enter. I feel like I did a mediocre entry and part of that is reflected in my documentation. I have always had great difficulties with language, and it shows in the file. I had though I would polish it up and put it online. I have put it off for weeks now, and I know that unless I release it now as it is, it will never get put up. The only difference between this version of the documentation and what I entered into the competition is the line drawing of the images of the existing trestle table. This was done at the request of the images owner, as he didn’t want electronic distribution. Thank You Jeffrey Johnson for the images. They helped a ton.

For what is is worth

Hey everyone who reads my blog,

It’s going to get a little quiet around here for the next few weeks. I am working on a single item entry into Tir Righ A&S championship. Normally I would blog about the day to day menusha of what I am doing, but after consultation with my laurel, I’ll be holding off intil the event is over. I held a poll on what I should build for the championship, and Furniture won. I will be attempting to make a conjecturally acurate 1380-1420′s sawhorse style trestle table.

Add to that, the Vancouver Film Fest is also the first two weeks of October. Hoping to catch `25-30 films again this year. Go Asian Cinema.

Radio silence baby. I am sure I’ll pot periodically but low volume.
